Fast bowler Gus Atkinson Exacerbates England's Fitness Problems.

'Major setback' for England after Atkinson is forced off suffering a hamstring problem.

Gus Atkinson further complicated the injury concerns plaguing England upon exiting the playing area on the second morning of the fourth Ashes Test against Australia.

The right-arm seamer experienced discomfort in his left hamstring immediately following a delivery of the fourth over on Saturday.

The England team indicated the 27-year-old reported "discomfort" and would spend time away from the action for further assessment "in the coming hours".

The series decider in this Ashes battle in Sydney begins at the end of the week.

England have been without fast bowlers Mark Wood to a knee injury and Jofra Archer because of a side injury on the current trip.

Matthew Fisher was called up to provide backup.

The seamer had a tough time in the opening two Tests, managing only a handful of scalps.

He was omitted of the third Test, only to be brought back for the Melbourne Test as Archer's replacement.

The county bowler performed better in the fourth Test, taking two wickets in Australia's first innings, then making 28 with the bat being one of only three English batsmen to get into double digits.

Post a single over late on the first day, he returned the next day and removed Scott Boland edging to the keeper.

Yet, at the end of that over, he sent down a slower ball to Travis Head and promptly felt at his leg.

Gus Atkinson was brought back for the Melbourne match having missed the Adelaide game.
