Brian Eno Encourages Public Help to Get Together for Palestine Lullaby to UK Christmas No 1.

A fundraising initiative is aiming to launch a cultural melody to the Christmas number one spot. The effort hopes to provide aid to Gaza's residents while also showcasing Palestinian artistic heritage.

A Possibility for Solidarity and an "Chart Upset"

Composer and producer Brian Eno, who features on the track, stated that the release called 'Lullaby' represents a opportunity to show solidarity with Palestinians over the Christmas period. He noted the potential for an unexpected chart success.

“It would be incredible if that came to pass, yes,” he commented. “I won't be completely disappointed if it fails to, Christmas singles are a unique phenomenon.”

Resilient Spirit of Self-Determination

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who features in the version of a folk song called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the track's defiant core message.

“The song holds a deeply meaningful spot for many individuals,” Barghouti explained. “The message is that I would choose to perish with honor than live a life without freedom. This is the primary message of the song; we seek to lead a dignified life that we merit as a people.”

Track's Background and Contributing Musicians

The track was produced after a major charity concert held in September. First conceived to be captured during the live event, the rendition was omitted from the lengthy event due to scheduling overruns.

The diverse array of artists contributing to Lullaby encompasses a selection of prominent voices from the industry. All took part in the earlier concert, which successfully generated a significant sum for humanitarian aid.

Creation and Launch

Lullaby was produced by a trio of producers and composers. The track showcases a combination of the heritage language with new English lyrics.

The organizers behind the initiative have emphasized that their aim is to collect the highest amount for a dedicated fund. These resources will be allocated to initiatives supporting Palestinians through an established charity.

“We haven't set a specific target,” a spokesperson commented. “We’ll go for as much as possible. Naturally, the higher the total, the greater the impact. All proceeds are directed out to Gaza.”

The situation in the region was described as its extreme devastation, with a huge proportion of buildings described as in ruins or severely impacted.

“Against that backdrop, a handful of millions is unlikely to make that much difference. But I think what truly matters is first of all spreading knowledge of this plight and showing the human dimension of the story.”

The track is set to be released this Friday. Additionally, a video of the benefit event will be made available for streaming on a popular streaming site from mid-December.
